Airing down works best when it is quick enough that you actually do it. ARB’s E-Z Deflator removes the valve core into a captive mechanism so air leaves the tire far faster than holding a valve stem open, while the gauge lets you stop at a deliberate trail pressure.

That pressure change can transform the truck: more tire footprint, better grip and a calmer ride over rocks and washboard. Air down in steps, keep an eye on sidewall clearance and heat, and make sure you have a capable compressor before heading far from pavement. Lower pressure is useful because you can put the air back in.
