ICON 1.5-Inch Dual-Rate Rear Coil Springs | 2021-2024 Ram 1500

A rear spring has two jobs on a coil-sprung Ram 1500: keep the truck comfortable when it is light and provide enough support when cargo, tongue weight or trail impacts push deeper into the travel. ICON handles that compromise with a dual-rate coil rather than simply making the entire spring stiffer.

The initial rate is intended to preserve a compliant everyday ride. As the suspension compresses, the firmer secondary rate adds support for payload, bottoming resistance and off-road use. Most applications gain about 1.5 inches of rear lift, while 2019-2023 Rebel models gain about 1 inch.

What it is good for

We see this as a useful spring for a Ram that needs better rear control without becoming a permanently heavy-duty truck. It can carry normal adventure gear more confidently while staying friendlier when unloaded than a spring designed around a constant 500-pound-plus payload.
