A receiver-mounted shackle point gives a recovery strap or rope a proper place to connect at the rear of the truck. That is a much better plan than pulling from a tow ball, bumper bracket or whatever piece of steel happens to be nearby when the truck is stuck.

Treat the complete load path as one system: receiver, hitch pin, recovery insert, shackle and vehicle frame. The lowest-rated part controls. We carry this kind of hardware because good recoveries start with good attachment points—everything downstream gets easier once the connection is right.
